Still working on it, JB. Our anticipated "quiet Christmas nights in front of the fire" were, alas, few and far between. We're catching up now, though.

I pondered the veracity of claims to sonic improvement via the application of aftermarket cables several times over the break, during the glut of nights spent in front if the fire demolishing my stock of good claret....

A trip to the wine merchants is on the cards....

I did come across a very interesting paper by john Atkinson touching on various related aspects of the question at hand.

I love the red light experiment and was familiar with it, but did not realise it applied to hearing as well!

That's a good article, although reading the punters' comments at the bottom is a good example of everything that's wrong with the usual flavour of discussion in this hobby.

Still, I quite like JA, I think he has some worthwhile things to say.

On a not unrelated subject, has anyone tried one of those system enhancement disks [Ayre sell one as does Denson]?

Never tried a disc.
But there's an App called Cardas Clarifier, I think it costs 79c, that claims to improve things.
Can't say I noticed any change. Only tried it once though. And didn't really make an effort to listen critically ....
