What are you listening to?
Re: What are you listening to?
Nice combination of Bach and Fauré on 24/48 download from Society of Sound.
Very Dynamic especially on the Kyrie from the Requiem. Lovely recording - totally enjoyable.

Re: What are you listening to?
Gustav Mahler
Symphony No. 7
Symphony Orchestra of South West German Radio Baden-Baden
Hans Rosbaud - conducting.
This is a very fine performance.
and then I revisited:
I love it.

Re: What are you listening to?
3 LP vinyl box set....
I have in my collection an old radio broadcast of the above work which I recorded a number of years ago so I am somewhat familiar with the work. However I wanted to have a "real" copy of it so when I went researching which one to buy this Barenboim version kept reappearing as the one that was top of the pile. When I saw a vinyl version going for reasonable money I jumped at it. The performances are excellent and the whole work is imbued with great music making from vocalists and instrumentalists.
