Tube suppliers and favourite tubes

It's possibly my amp, you can be right as every single element working with the tubes have to be taken in consideration.

However, after talking with many many different people who tried the Shuguang Treasure, I never heard someone unhappy with them, plus from my own experience, they are much more reliable than the Golden Lion.

I am now trying the Shuguang GEKT88 which again satisfies me very much :)

The biggest difference between other tubes and the Treasure was when I changed my 12AX7

Interesting re 12ax7 my amp has gold lion ECC82/83 equivalent 12ax7 and 12au7 that for one reason was why I wanted to see how it would fair changing the rest to GL KT88. At the moment the amp came with tungsol 6550's and unless I had a set of gl 's to compare it sounds fine.
Is your amp using 2 or 4 KT88's?

Jim mcshane - you can trust what he's selling.

X-music, just behind the red cow, good for a range of valves that are used in guitar amps. I bought 2 x matched pairs of genelex gold lion kt66 for €60 some time back. Have a range of jj tubes and re branded sovteks too.

Hot rox in the UK - were fine to deal with but no special deal.

Langrex in the UK (seller "yitry" on ebay) very good value, I've bought valves and bases from them a few times, good guys.



I have had mixed results with swapping valves. Doesn't always follow that those desirable nos mullards are going to sound better than ye cheap Chinese ones.... So beware of that.
