No I haven't markof. In fact I only have two more John Surman Lps - Morning Glory (Island original) and Upon Reflection (ECM). That's it! Oh, and another ECM Lp collaboration with Barre Phillips and Aina Kemanis called Journal Violone 2 - very highly recommended! Finally have you ever heard Le Voyage by the Paul Motian Trio (w/ J. F. Clarke and Charles Brackeen) also ECM. Stunning :) BTW lucky you that you actually saw him live!

Last night and first thing this morning: one of my good friend, Karl Henning's, favourite Jazz musicians:

Cork Jazz is a really good event for notching up live acts. Over the space of 4-5 years you get to experience a lot great musicians and great music.

Just previewing the Motian trio album - impressive. Will stick it into the wishlist too.
Thanks for the recommendations.

Yes Sean. I am a relative newcomer to jazz and starting to find my way around. I find I like Thelonius (what a great name) a lot though some of the earlier (1947) stuff is 'challenging'. I notice that both yourself and Ivor have posted albums from later periods....
As There are 387 Monk titles on Amazon (!), are there some that you ,or others, would reccommend particularly?
