I hadn't listened to this in a while and it's still a gem. The system has had a few tweeks since I last heard this one and I can hear now that it's actually a very clear sparse production. I suppose I most heard this in a radio studio before... hardly ideal.
Rock - what are you listening to?

Surely will go down as a classic album in years to come....Ivor wrote:I hadn't listened to this in a while and it's still a gem. All things Caravan brings up these boys :)
Syd Arthur - On and On
Mojo:
Shortly before he fell to leukaemia in 2009, Canterbury scene luminary Hugh Hopper made a significant baton pass. Taken with some blossoming talents known as Syd Arthur, the former Soft Machine bassist gifted them his 1968 Fender Jazz as played on various classic albums. Young Joe Magill puts Hugh's Fender to fine use on this, Syd Arthur's fully formed debut, while brother Liam (guitar/vocals), drummer Fred Rother and violinist Raven Bush shine too.

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
One of the great live albums. The performance of Little Johnny Jewel, in particular, is astonishing, and the rendition of Marquee Moon is very nearly as good. Some of the best guitar playing you will ever hear.jadarin wrote:

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
hard to know with that one alright but it's a crackin' album. A real slow burner.markof wrote:Don't know if this fits in here.

Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Not sure where this should go as to me its a mix of jazz, folk, soul and blues perhaps. In any case it's a cracking recording.
