Managed to give something back as well today to Noel in Cloneys. It is very hard I feel really proud managing to get it back in the door without opening the wallet. Noel probably had to be picked up off the floor when I left empty handed!

Anyway got to hear the TT I think it was a hugh masakele track? I didnt think vinyl could sound like that.Incredible of course through those speakers it was going to sound really well anyway. I always wanted an Linn Sondek when I was younger but don't have a tt now so nice to just listen to one in a really top end system. I see what the fuss is about now. Very natural and real sound.

That track was the eye-opener for me too.

ah I thought that's what it was. I had that phonostsage on demo a few months back. I found to be very neutral and it didnt impose any character of its own on the music. The extra 'sparkle' that came from the vinyl above must have been solely down to the LP12.

Darius is a friend of Cloneys who will take old turntables and refurbish them. He's done quite a few in the past and they are stunning both in looks and sound. A nice blend of art and Hifi! They're not cheap but not mad money either.

I'm pretty sure there's photos around here from a Cloney show in Bewleys of Ballsbridge of more of his work.

Dermot, the Linn Sondek that I bought from Noel was totally refurbished by Darius so I can testify to his credentials; he does really good work.
