Re: Looking for CD Transport Recommendation
Thanks, used would be fine, though I'd like to go through my local dealer as I have a $1000 credit there.
The C.E.C is outside by price range.
Also when I say transport, it doesn't have to be a dedicated transport any CDP that has a S/PIDF RCA/BNC output with low jitter would work for me.

Re: Looking for CD Transport Recommendation
Thanks.
Nice link Modest, thanks.
While researching based on your input I also came across the TEAC PD-H600. It only has a Sanyo SF-P101N (though many players seem to use it, including the CECs you mention) but the reviews have been excellent and the price is great only $729 new. In particular reviews say the measurements on jitter is extremely low from the unit.
I'm also waiting to here options back from my local dealer but I'll continue looking and check out the CECs and earlier TEACs

Re: Looking for CD Transport Recommendation
That's the mechanism in my shigaclone transport - and yes it does sound excellent when properly driven..... although it ain't "audiophile" - also being used in many boomboxes - a replacement transport is about a fiver on ebay.
That doesn't stop 47 labs using it in the shigaraki transport BTW....

Re: Looking for CD Transport Recommendation
I'll add the Rega to my list. I should hear back from the dealer in a few days so it will be interesting to see what he is proposing (if anything)
Anyone intersted in the TEAC PD H600, see http://www.teac.com/consumer_electronic ... s/pd-h600/ Seems it got TAS Golden Ear award 2010 and TAS editors choice 2011
