Fantastic write-up there Paul, great stuff. I look forward to listening to that album soon and I'll have another read through your post above.

Many thanks for your kind words, lads, I really appreciate it.

Enjoy the album, Tony. But be patient. It doesn't give up its gifts lightly. Give it time and you will be richly rewarded.

Wow! That's some post, mcq, most impressive.

I only have Five Leaves Left which I listen to occasionally, but never closely enough. Sounds like I need to expand my Nick Drake collection ASAP.

Thank you, Simon, that's very kind. Nick Drake is one of those artists that you have to be very patient with. It can take time for his music to sink into your soul, but once it's there, it's there for good.

Only seeing this now! So delighted that other forum members have expressed their thoughts on Paul's stunning personal summation of Pink Moon's magic and despair. Nick Drake was a one off. A shadow of a shadow. His like will never walk this earth again. At least his music will live on eternally....

Thank you, Dermot, for your kind words. I think Joe Boyd once said that he believed that Nick Drake gave his life for his music. When that kind of commitment to your art is at stake, I really believe that you are morally obliged to really engage with the music and to give it the kind of close listening that it truly deserves.

Beautifully put Paul. I've said it before and I'll say it again: we're blessed to have someone like you to show us what we're missing, whether we have the album in question or not. Thank you...
