I was thinking 30+, so I'd call that good value. In fact, now I think they're even better.

Sorry I missed the oppertunity, however such is life. About 3 years ago I sent a email to Advantgarde in Germany enquiring about the Duo Mezzo, a cool 38K including 17% German VAT.

It'd be on my shortlist but it wouldn't be open and shut. I'd need to listen a lot closer on the classical front especially. They are fab though.

David was raving about the mezzo which I am sure at nearly twice the price is delivering another level again. The amp powering the speakers last night was solid state 40w.
The einstein cd player to me was to die for. It really had the feel of putting on vinyl. It was a work of art. I wonder would he flog that for a small sum given the age?

The molly on the shore track really showcased the strengths of this speaker. The orchestra was there in the room. Sound was incredible.I think you would need to be in a detached property or soundproofed room to let this system rip at high volume levels.
Will have to go back doing the lottery. Regardless hearing something like that puts the bug to upgrade back on the horizon. Even if one cant stretch to that level one sees the potential benefits of moving up the food chain.

I think at that price point it would be very difficult to steer me away from sonus faber
Brass Bands are all very well in their place -

Perhaps not such bad prices considering it is comparable to buying a brand new car.

If I was in the market for buying a new car around 40K, I would instead buy a 10 year old good quality second hand car for about 3k, and then put the rest of the money into a Duo Mezzo.
