i bought a sony i think ps5022 model but il check later -this is a lenco this is for a friend of mine in carrickmacross it is so origional and complete 100 uk pounds it is the older lenco b52 model with the pressed steel platter instead of the gl75 which has the lower solid platter-anyway the plan is to replace the sprung plinth with a solid mahogany similar size to look origional-and a rega or linn arm fits the standard hole
a rega arm the bearings are only £5 tho replace brand new the rb250 model someone had one for sale here and easy to rewire
check out a man called jean naltais who does really classey work on lenco maybe some of the computer literat forum members could put up the link
and if you need something from uk you can get it posted and il get it on to you
the thorens td150mk2 would also not be a silly money project also

Thanks for all your offers of help.
I certainly will take on the DiY project. Have had a good look through Lenco Heaven and Jean Nantais threads and looks very doable. Feeling encouraged and confident! I will keep a close eye on eBay etc over the next couple of weeks for a suitable unit and components.

Fran I would love to see your Lenco set up and customisations. I'll send you a PM to arrange.

Hey,

I'd definitely going for a DIY turntable, it's fun to build and the result will always be satisfying if you made it yourself :)

Gerry,
Thanks for the links and suggestions. Nice pieces.
I'll do a bit of planning tomorrow and assess what I need but certainly the arm looks great.
I'll get back to you later.
Thanks
