help with quad 63
Im wondering if anyone on the forum has replaced the very thin stretched dust cover on quad 63s?
Re: help with quad 63
Yes, both myself and Derek have done it. Its not hard - you can buy a kit with everything you need from onethingaudio in the UK. There was a substantial improvement in sound afterwards......

I can help you out if needed; you'll need a soldering gun/iron, a heat gun, some 1/2" double sided tape, draft excluder single 'D' profile normally available in Woodies etc, I got some double width and split it up the middle.
If you have a carpenters square it would be handy and some heavy corrugated cardboard & black gaffer/duck tape.
You'll also need no interruptions and plenty of space.
It's a pretty straight forward job.
If the stockings are looking a bit tired this would be a great opportunity to replace them.
onethingaudio were a great help and the instructions are clear they supply enough Mylar to cover several panels because you are bound to make a mess of at least one.
I have some photos I had taken when my replacing mine, I'll see if I can find them!
