Thanks Tony - I think it's a matter of perception i.e because it's inexpensive & is in a functional box, it doesn't exude the right pheromones :)

It needs a price tag of >2K & shiny knobs that have to be polished every day in order to interest a certain section of the marketplace!

Yep a valve (or two) & nice big transformer(s) with gold plated encasing.
