Can't be region free'd for Blu-ray (although it can for DVD). We're region B, but region coding isn't as common on Blu-rays as it is on DVD. Basically, this site is very useful:

DVD regions are numbers (there are 6)
BD regions are letters (A, B and C)

While we're on the subject, has anyone had any success with making a Sony Blu-Ray player region free for DVDs? I've done a bit of searching on it but can't come up with anything definitive.
(I'm mainly into Blu-Rays for movies these days but I've a ton of Region 1 Music and Concert DVDs - most of which will never see the light of day on Blu-Ray!)

Yeah, I've made my Sony 365 region free for DVDs, but I can't remember how. It was trivial enough, though, and I definitely learned via the web. Try avforums.com if you have a specific model and google doesn't yield anything.

Thanks. I've two Sony Blu-Rays - a BDP S363 and a BDP S370 but as far as I can recall, making it region-free involved using some sort of Logitech Remote (Or was it a One For All?) which I don't have.

Anyway, will check it out online this evening and report back if I've any sucess...

This is ringing a bell. I don't have a Logitech either, but at the time my missus had a Nokia phone that you could programme to do the job somehow. Wonder if that's still lying around...?
