FLAC to Apple Lossless, is this possible

Post by Rocker »

Is it possible to convert a FLAC file to Apple Lossless? Another way of looking at this is will an Apple iTunes library process FLAC files?

Thanks.

XXrecode (free download) is an excellent and very useful bit of SW that will convert any format to any other format.

Don't know if there is a flac plugin for iTunes though.... maybe some of the applers might reply?

Hi - I'm trying to do the very same thing myself. It looks like dbpoweramp has a Batch Convertor. I have downloaded the trial version and converted a few hundred tracks easily. Note that I use Windows. Haven't found anything else that looks so complete.

Flac2Mac in the App Store.

Converts FLAC to Apple Lossless, iTunes Plus and WAV

Haven't used it yet but it looks very straightforward.

If you get there first please let me know how it goes.
