The amazing St. Vincent live. Undoubtedly the artist of the moment, I think what we're seeing is only the beginning of a long and very interesting career.

And a simply gorgeous version of These Days from a few years back.

The way she sings "please don't confront me with my failures, I have not forgotten them" at the end just stops me in my tracks every time.

Yes this one interests me. I have ordered 'actor' and am waiting for it to arrive. She is meant to be working on an album with David Byrne and there is a live track on youtube where they play together but dont know if anything will come of the stuff they are doing. Isnt she playing one of the festivals in irlanda this year?

Yes, she's playing the Body and Soul festival at Ballinlough Castle on June 24th. Enjoy Actor, Tony, and I'm sure you're be ordering Marry Me and Strange Mercy as well. I think she'll be around for a while, and I just know we will see some very interesting things from her as the years go by.

Did she feature recently on 'Other Voices' on RTE ?

She did indeed. I think the episode in question is still available to view through the RTE player.

I'll maybe give that another look.........I couldn't abide what came across as smug 'artisiic' narcissism in the bit of the interview that I could bear to listen to, and the music felt a bit self indulgent too!! maybe I was having a grumpy night

Is the link still available? I had a look and couldnt find it. Re smug artist is that not normal for most musical artists. They must all go to the same marketing or training course for interviews.

It tends to be "normal" for the introspective singer-songwriter alright. I'm told by my ageing media mates that St Vincent is actually one of the nicest people on the planet.

Nice to hear that. I would believe a lot of them are very normal but you know when you are on telly it often has to be very deep or they wont be taken serious. I think they are missing the point most of us would prefer to hear them ranting or waffling like 'normal' people. Hifi nuts for example!
