Stone slabs - where to buy?

Post by Claus »

I am looking for some slabs or worktop pieces to put under my speakers when they arrive. If anyone knows where would be a good place to look, that would be greatly appreciated. Ideally black or grey polished finish of some sort. Thanks, Claus

Try a monument works Claus, they usually have granite which they can cut to size and polish black if needed. Might be expensive though...

Tesco sell black granite chopping boards!. They fit a reasonably good sized speaker. They might be ok size wise for you. I think they are circa €18-25 each. I am using them on a pair of spendor a6's. Nice thing is they are polished all round. I reckon they would cost a lot more if sold by a hifi shop. I got the idea from Frederyck who was using them for large b&w speakers actually haven't seen him post around here for a while.

Cloney's have a pair of slabs there at the moment. They came with a traded in pair of B&W 803. Give them a shout and they may be able to do something for you.

They're made of granite( a pale colour ) and are painted matt black but look ok.
