AVANTGARDE ACOUSTIC HORN SPEAKERS

Post by sdiesel77 »

Hey Guys,

I'm just back from a listening session (in Dublin) of Horn Speakers from Avantgarde Acoustic. We had the opportunity to listen to the Duo Omega model.

One word: WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW !

I've never heard such good speakers, everything that I have always been looking in sound quality, the Avantgarde had it!

Deep bass, VERY VERY detailed sound, it's like REALLY having the artist singing in the same room with you!

We had the chance to be the very first visitor in this very new Dublin showroom, Big Thanks to David who invited us !

Heard some Avantgardes a few years ago and I thought they were incredible. Truth be told I'm still fascinated by them. I have it in my head they need a fair bit of space to work properly. I wonder is that even true? In any case I'd love to hear them again.

Where's this new hi fi shop? I remember Cloney Audio had them on display at one of their shows. A friend of mine bought them and I was duly invited up to his house to hear them. I cannot for the life of me remember what they sounded like except to say I wasn't impressed enough to buy them. But then again, he had just moved to a brand new house and the room was very sparsely furnished. However, every time I see them, one word sticks in my mind: magnification. I'd wager your sources would have to be impeccable especially vinyl playback plus the poor old Lp medium itself....

The listening room was not excessively big, and I's day that a room of 4mx5m would be enough for the UNO model

It's more a listening room than a shop with one pair of avantgarde, the Duo Omega, a nice valve CD player, an Imac connected to an airport and a nice Avantgarde amplifier.

If anybody is interested in a listening session (in city centre), please contact David Browne (you can say you got his details from me: Stephane)

They're definitely not cheap to buy and it's all personal according to each taste but trust me, I've been listening to many many different speakers and according to me, I have NEVER felt that way when listening to music ! :-D
