I really like the Ashkenazy recording though. I also think the pieces are extremely satisfying technically and melodically...

I have recently finished listening to this collection of Handel’s Chamber Music comprising the Flute Sonatas, Violin Sonatas, Oboe Sonatas, Trio Sonatas and Recorder Sonatas. One is more accustomed to Handel’s larger scale works so this is a welcome addition to the collection. It gives an insight into a different aspect of his music. The music is well played and recorded and I was particularly taken with the performance of the Recorder Sonatas.
