Darren... when all things are taken into account, you and Sean in particular are far more adventurous than I am... it's simply that this beautiful Renaissance polyphony, with its soaring layers of the very finest soprano over alto over tenor over bass, recorded to perfection in some of our historic buildings with the very finest acoustics possible, make my hairs stand on end.

It almost makes me want to turn Catholic.. ;-)

yeah, but what a fabulous musical background you've had! I'm just discovering some of this stuff right now, and I have to say... thank God I've managed to do it now, at least... what an impoverished life people must have had, if they've never had the chance to listen to Victoria!

(right, I'll shut up about it now...)

Ha, I have more holes in my musical knowledge than a Swiss cheese! Still, I think everyone who's exposed to this music admires it. Well, nearly everyone. Even non-classical listeners are moved by this stuff, it's accessible, evocative and beautiful.
