I must confess that this charity shop purchase from before Xmas is the first Haydn disk I have heard from Goodman, and I'm most impressed... brisk tempos, with a lightness of touch which allows the music to breathe and radiate... an excellent purchase.

I don't like Goodman's Beethoven or Schubert recordings, but the Haydn series is much more to my tastes. I only have about 3 of the discs though... :-(

I was intrigued by that composer because of Claus.



Beautiful neo-classical piece indeed. I might very well explore this composer further.

I have every one of them Jared and they are all of the same high standard. It is such a pity that the cycle was never completed!
