A suggestion............
Re: A suggestion............
I can see SJB's point as I abhor genres myself. Nevertheless I have to agree with the other points too. Leave it the way it is and, as the Rocker says, say something about what you're listening to; maybe a review/listening link and maybe a little story or two....that's what I try to do anyway. The killer is, when there's absolutely no response whatsoever :( It's hard to be enthusiastic on your own but I do understand when it's stuff you've never heard of....Listen, open your mind and yer ass will follow ;))))
Re: A suggestion............
OK,
SJB - gotta say, it ain't looking good here!!!
There is a search feature too up there, plus you can search by poster - so if someone happens to be on the same wavelength, you can search all their posts by subforum - should show up just the posts in say, everything else forum. You can then search within those results too. Might be more hassle than you want, and also, its a pity but you can't save a search either......

It's OK Fran,

Unfortunately John I would hate to see the threads merged. Personally I would prefer if the general thread was broken down into various threads like the old forum. I hate having to trawl through general looking for topics relating to cables for instance. Can I use this thread to ask for more headings under the general. Speakers, Amps, Cables, Phono etc etc. Also I did ask this before and assume it is impossible but will raise it again in the hope somebody could recover the old forum threads. I thought there was a huge database of info in there that is now seemingly lost forever. By the way Dermo your musings do work I went back to Eno's On land and discovered something. Have since ordered a variety of the bald ones ambient work. Cant wait to get them I will need to get into the gym gear to have a good workout to the rhytmic beat!

I think I safely say that's lost forever. That database belonged to Cloney Audio and I doubt if they kept a copy of it.tony wrote: Also I did ask this before and assume it is impossible but will raise it again in the hope somebody could recover the old forum threads. Yes Ivor i realised that but had to hope time might have mellowed minds and worked a miracle.
Have to acknowledge Johns magnanimous acceptance of defeat and a nice quote to send us all off laughing. Good to see a person can take his 'medicine' with a gritted smile.
