Early August or thereabouts, quite a dull time in the church's calendar. That said, I doubt Bach was phoning it in from his mobile home in Brittas Bay.
indeed... like all good middle class Lutherans, he'd have holidayed on Sylt, with his beech hut and bathing britches..
