Emmylou Harris
John Hiatt
... And many of their collaborators.
More than any genre, including jazz perhaps, this country music spins an enormous web.

Yep
For example, John Hiatt (he was the young fella on Heartworn Highways, Ivor) leads you to-
Ry Cooder, nick Lowe, Flaco Jiminez (played as a band), Jim Dickinson, whose sons are the North Mississippi Allstars, Sonny landreth (who's played slide with Mark Knopfler), Jeff Healey, Roseanne Cash and a myriad of Texas musicians

Haven't got room to do a "tree" from Emmylou, would be here all night

This could go in blues or jazz but is probably happiest here...

An old favourite, I had this on repeat in the shop Thurs - Sat and took it home to listen properly. It's just brilliant.

And a Joe Henry production too
Philip King just played "Katie Cruel" by Karen Dalton on Other Voices
Spine-tingling stuff
Same vein, check out the Gift Band live 2010 (Norma Waterson, Eliza Carthy, Martin Carthy & band). Sublime!

while in this area...WARNING!
Anyone who has tickets for the great "Transatlantic Sessions" in the Convention Centre 7 Feb
(Aly Bain, Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, all-star US/UK/Irish cast)
Its been cancelled and reset for same night in the NCH..Tickets for original venue NOT valid!
You must get refund and rebook NCH...at increased price by 8/9 Euro.
Something very odd here
Can understand NCH capacity 900 v 3000 in CC
but non transferable tickets and 25% price increase
may be time to talk to Joe.....
