Beautiful low key Irish traditional music for Christmas....being a Celt I have to acknowledge the Winter Solstice with some appropriate Celtic lore!

I've always liked this fella from the first hearing - as he was being interviewed on the radio. Some of it is a bit suspect, but a lot of it is excellent.

I was reminded fo this great album in Fergus' place recently..... I remembered I had it on vinyl - I had bought it at a car boot sale or similar. Pulled it out after the visit to Fergus and you could see the crud on the vinyl, it was really really bad. Ah well, not much hope, but sure I'll give it a wash. Did that on the wet/dry vacuum machine and set it aside to play later. Promptly forgot about it until tonight! I put it on, expecting to take it off after a few minutes due to the original state of it. Anyway, its pretty much pristine after the clean!!! Score! Can't believe the difference in it!

Great album too BTW!!

planxty a great choice, thought the'd mellowed nicely by time of "Live 2004" tho

Still Haven't a clue how to put up covers but-

-MARIZA - CONCERT EM LISBOA

-GEOFFREY GURRAMUL YUNUPINGU - GURRAMUL

-ROOSEVELT IN TRINIDAD - CALYPSOS 1936 - 39

-PRODIGAL SON - MARTIN SIMPSON

-ANYTHING (even national anthem) by RICHARD THOMPSON

some of my favourites

(must learn, suppose I should scan them
