Followed by this iconic Lp - I currently own 6 copies!! - which turned my world completely upside down :-) Managed to see them just the once, in the Olympia of all places! Unfortunately they didn't play together but that was ok. Holger wasn't there that night so I didn't get to see the bass player with the white gloves! Still Michael, Irmin and especially Jaki L were just amazing....
I used to listen to the scary side long Aumgn in the dark and it definitely set me off on the weird track. Things were somehow never the same and all the better for it :-)
Original UA sleeve....now reissued as a double cd with same sleeve for it's 40th anniversary...
The second cd is live, containing just three songs including a 29" version of Spoon....
Reissued sleeve...

Do or do not, there is no try

I was beginning to think you'd never get around to it ;-) Well, what does Red House sound like or even Little Wing? Should have ample bass presence anyway plus acres of atmosphere....Noel has never been captured in a live situation as well as here imo...Fran wrote:

Haven't listened to this properly since I got a signed cd at the concert he gave in the Pod a while back. I was a bit disappointed to tell the truth but I hear it's coming out on double vinyl! Now that's a different scenario entirely. So now I'm back on the Pod giving it another blast ;-)

I only have two albums by this criminally unknown artist, the first two....bloody marvellous and at least a century ahead of the pack. Just look at the year they were released!
Circa '64...
The 1963 debut album from Sandy Bull, the ground-breaking folk artist who defined the folk guitar explosion of the '60s. Fantasias For Guitar And Banjo features a blending of eastern and western styles and a fusion of the most different musical forms from folk to blues to bluegrass and jazz. Includes the the legendary collaboration with jazz drummer Billy Higgins on the side-long track "Blend," a song that started a genre.
Sandy Bull Fantasias For Guitar And Banjo Track Listing
1. Blend
2. Carmina Burana Fantasy
3. Non Nobis Domine
4. Little Maggie
5. Gospel Tune
Circa '65...
Sandy Bull Inventions On 180g Vinyl LP
Considered to be his finest moment, Sandy Bull's second record goes beyond his first, wearing an electric halo while he continues to explore the boundaries of the guitar. "Blend 2," his answer to his first record's opus "Blend" . A ghostly, warm record as a whole: Bull is on top of his game and once again reinventing the way the ear hears the hand as it plays the guitar.
Sandy Bull Inventions Track Listing
1. Gavotte II
2. Manha De Carnival
3. Triple Ballade
4. Memphis, Tennessee
5. Blend II
6. Gavotte II
