Claus, I can certainly endorse the Beethoven, Mahler, Brahms (the Harnoncourt/BPO recordings are gorgeous performances that opened my ears to Brahms), Sibelius and Jochum Bruckner recordings, they are a delight, you won't go wrong with any of them, in fact they are marvellous introductions to these magnificent works.
