I have been on a Má Vlast blast tonight, first up was Kuchar's splendid recording on Brilliant Classics and then this:

I am ashamed to say that I had forgotten just how good this performance really is, it is imbued with emotion and the sound of the CPO, and in particular the woodwinds, is such a delight.
Highly recommended.

^^ I have those on the same disk as the Boccherini, Fergus.. they are muscular but very fine interpretations...

I recently bought the Walevska set for comparison, which are also great... and a little more dainty

That is what I always liked about Du Pré....she was a passionate musician and wore her heart on her sleeve.
