^^ no, you seam to have sold them to me there... I DON'T like 'big band' Haydn at all... more of a Kuijken fan tbh (I've long since sold my Karajan CD). I have Harnoncourt's London Symphs which I generally enjoy, but find his approach quite measured and a little lacking in emotion, which is why I keep searching...

There is great music making in this one as one would expect and I especially liked the performances of the brass section.

you aren't wrong... some of them are going ridiculously cheaply, and I am sorely tempted... however as always, it is listening time which is at a premium, and the infamous shelf is positively bulging with good things at present.
