do you have any other versions Fergus... the Jacobs, for instance?
It is the only version that I have at the moment Jared but I am interested in the Jacobs in the future as an alternative version.

me to... I don't want to run before I can walk, but I've heard good things about it.

the other thing I'm really keen on getting around to buying is Hickox's boxset of Haydn Masses on Chandos...

I have a number of them on individual CDs Jared and I can definitely vouch for them!

I've given that one quite some airing recently Fergus... I think it's a beautifully constructed programme of songs, besides being Betty at her finest...

anyway, you all know I'm playing lots of Purcell at the moment, but I have taken a break at work over the past few days to play these to my customers in Reception:

I tend not to get as much reaction to plainchant or pure vocal polyphony as I do to say, Mozart or Mendelssohn, which I guess is to be expected... but it created a tremendous sound which resonates around my desk... I'm a convert, at any rate!! ;-)

I thought that Schwarzkopf was as divine as ever and the highlights version was enough to prompt me to invest in a copy of the full opera!
