Thankfully it is a good remastering of JTF and there is none of the loudness war nonsense that bedevils so many reissues. Sound marginally better than the original CD version but perhaps not enough to merit a purchase.
The "Extras" by and large are interesting, you won't find yourself listening to the work throughs of the songs very often and the sessions are very like the album versions, again interesting bit to my mind not essential.
The remixes do nothing for me. I don't generally like what ProTools does to drums and sonics and the remixes herein certainly don't change my mind on that score. The remixes won't even make it to the IPOD.
Jailbreak fares better with the remaster as it can sound a little light and certainly the remastering has beefed it up a little. The extras too are that little bit better with a fascinating early live version of The Cowboy Song.

On the tt. Feel a bit strange listening to this as I have no idea what it's going to sound like! It's an album I very rarely play! I would say the classic WA sound was long gone at that stage. Incidentally a certain Storm Thorgerson took the photos and designed the sleeve....

Last week it was the Beatles. This time it's Rush. What a trip down down memory lane....Who needs movies when you have this ;-)
Especially for "The Necromancer"
Especially for "Beneath,Between and Behind" and "By-Tor...."
Especially for "Freewill" and "Jacob's Ladder"
