Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Jimi's very last performance :-( ....still haven't heard it for some obscure reason!
Peter Green, Ten Years After and Taste were also on the bill too...
Wolfgang's Vault:
It's no question that Jimi Hendrix was one of the greatest guitarists of all time - possibly THE best. Although his career was short (about 3 years in total), the legacy he left behind is prolific. On September 6, 1970, Hendrix played his last show at Germany's Open Air Love and Peace Festival. Pouring down rain and delayed by a day, Hendrix insisted on playing for the fans that came to the festival solely for his performance...little did they know it would be his last.

On the tt and tying in nicely with my previous post....Magnificent colossal sonic fireworks and they say he wasn't at his best!?!?!?! Ok I will admit he wasn't 100% but 10% Jimi is still way better than a lot of groups :-)
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
MOV Delta Martian Blues :-) Stunning...
Double vinyl...
Double vinyl...
Re: Rock - what are you listening to?
Well last night... What an album!!!!! For whatever reason a very emotional album (or honest...hmmm?). I can sometimes get annoyed with myself that I took so long to get into this type of music! Like the way I only really discovered Bob Dylan over the last say 5 years say. I've been a Tom Waits and Neil Young fan since I was around 17 but why did this stuff escape me? Hmmm...
