Does it sound any different apart from the obvious?
Cybot,
It sounds alot different from the original 70's mix. While the sound on the remaster compared to the old cd is in a different league....the mix makes it sound like a 90's version of the
album which can be quite uncomfortable listen and it also feels like it's about 20-30 bpm quicker....This was my first electonic record i ever bought and i played this to death first on vinyl than on cd
many years later...so i know this album as well as any and wouldn't recommend it.....

Very interesting thoughts indeed! Hmm? I feel the same about the vinyl remasters. Exactly as you described above but to a lesser extent because of the vinyl medium...I don't know, it's difficult to put in words! The only description that's consistent right through the reissues is "lack of air"...as if the high frequencies were chopped off and the bass has that tighter harder sound; The originals have a much more natural electronic sound, if that makes sense! Look, I happen to have the original Computer World 7" and it's in a completely different stratosphere compared to the remastered version...and that's only one example! To tell the truth, it doesn't really bother me too much as I just pretend it's another interpretation on a familiar theme and just sit back and enjoy it :-)

On precious vinyl...and precious memories awakened too. I remember seeing this film in London the day after Led Zeppelin's last stand at Knebeworth back in '79! The most maligned group (Popol Vuh) in all of music! Haphazard compilations and duplication of tracks abounded everywhere which did them no favours! The Nosferatu soundtrack is a perfect example; there's stuff here from their second album in heavily edited form (from side long tracks) to make it seem like new music! Don't get me started :-(
