I got this in DID yesterday
And here's the blurb about it...
Monster's Clean Power Circuitry filters out power pollution for more natural sound and better TV picture. Monster PowerCenters make life easier. You'll get back the performance you never knew you lost. Maximize your system's protection. . You'll see a more vivid picture and hear more natural sound with increased dynamic range and less noise - especially if your AC power is severely polluted. Monster's FlatProfile plug lets you push your furniture flush against the wall. Now you can get protection from harmful surges, voltage spikes and inconvenience! Monster's PowerCenters offer high performance solutions for today's technology challenges. . Finally, a generous eight-foot Monster power cord, which is the optimum length to reach most electrical outlets, is included. Designed by world renown AC power expert Richard March, Monster's Clean Power Circuitry uses special filters to dramatically reduce electronic noise on your AC power line to give you the best possible sound and picture from your components. And, with colour-coded outlets and cord labels, you can avoid unplugging your VCR by mistake, causing it to blink 12:00
My first impressions are very positive. It seems to tidy up the sound, bass is cleaner and more detail coming through across the whole range. My very first impression was that it slowed the music down a bit, as if previuosly the system had been trying to rush it through before it ran out of breath. IMHO the power supply is critical to system performance, and if it's possible to clean up the mains before it reaches the power supply that can only help. Anyway, for €100 it's the best improvement I've made in years.
Monster Mains Filter
Re: Monster Mains Filter
They are available from Harvey Norman too in Mullingar. There is a very impressive demo system where you can 'hear' the mains noise before using the filter and after [when the noise is much lower].
It's OK, if there is no bread I will eat cake.

Re: Monster Mains Filter
Often wondered about getting something similar. I've had a Tacima mains filter in my amazon basket for years now...

I could bring one over if you wanted to do a simple A-B test. I have a Tacima upstairs and a (better) Consonance one downstairs.Diapason wrote:Often wondered about getting something similar. I've had a Tacima mains filter in my amazon basket for years now...

Re: Monster Mains Filter
Yeah, might do that at some stage. Definitely not going to shell out big money on it until I'm convinced the effect is real.
