^^ Sean's Mrs has given him his weekly allowance, I see.. ;-)

the Beethoven/ Schiff looks intriguing, especially as I have yet to indulge in his Cello music... please let us know how you get on..

I regret to inform you that Beethoven's cello music is wonderful IMHO Jared....it should definitely be in your collection!!

I know... I've only been listening to CMfor just under 4 years though Fergus... you can't have everything all in one go; I mean, I'ver only just got around to Lyric Pieces & Songs Without Words ..;-)

found this delightful CD in a charity shop a couple of hbours ago:

Some people do not really rate the Alban Berg Quartet but I like them I must say!

their work in Schubert has always been more critically acclaimed than in Beethoven, Fergus, which admittedly does seem to have its detractors. Their String Quintet with Schiff is still considered to be one of the finest on offer:
