I expected the amp to have made some difference alright, more subtle I would have thought but in reality the difference has been a bit more dramatic. A testament to the Airtight's qualities and no doubt 'exposing' everything else in my system.

Just a thought on the brightness. It might be worth trying out slightly different speaker positions, maybe adjust toe-in or tilt a little. Just small changes may help tone it down enough.

Cheers Fran, I had actually planned on changing the toe-in this evening as after some more experimentation in the last day or two none of the cable changes helped at all! They didnt really make any difference. But earlier I changed the toe angle of the speaker so that they angled outwards a bit more than before. This most certainly made a difference. I believe now that the new sound from the Airtight has somewhat 'excited' a room node that wasnt happening before and the speaker angle adjustment has helped alleviate some of this. I think further improvements can be made with more adjustments or more 'stuff' in the room but for now I'm just gonna sit back enjoy the music.
