These two works are very well played and sung and the recording is very good as well. This recording is my first exposure to Zelenka’s music and I found it both very interesting and exciting; I liked the particular blend of vocal and instrumental lines that gives this composer a voice of his own. There was great drive and presence in the music and indeed the performances; a very fine recording!

^^ I am just coming to the end of the 2nd round of Barenboim's Beethoven Piano Sonata cycle on EMI... a positive delight throughout...

I would of course, also post something meaningful in this thread too, but alas, I'm half way through the fourth round of this cycle... and I'm sure you don't want to see the box again, do you?

I like it Jared, but then I have a bias towards von Karajan with Sibelius; I like his hard nosed accounts of the music.
