You're looking at a KT88 PP there Si.....

Tell you what is a lovely amp... the naksa that John Kenny has. Its solid state, but sounds really really good. You should have a listen.....

Barry:

I think you're right, its really a perfect match I think between the amp and speakers. The circuit is also clever of course. Nothing special about the components, but the transformers are good I think. The vavles are all just russian jobs, 6N1P (russian dual triode) and 6P14P (russian EL84 equivalent), all cheap as chips.

Its not my build anyway!!

Heh. Just put Naksa amp into google to get more information, and happened across a review by some punter called Francis Morrin, on some website called tirnahifi...

Yep, no problem at all, Si.
I'd also love to hear Fran's EL84 amp - looks excellent Fran & as you say it might be a nice match to my Jordans.

We should talk, and maybe arrange a gathering at my house to compare some of your toys against the Wadia 581SE. I'd be interested* in hearing that. The only thing is, I'm so far away from any kind of computer front-end that you'd basically need to bring everything with you. Would you be on for that some evening/Saturday/Sunday?

*and probably very depressed by the results.
