Got to find out what everyone's talking about: Striggio's forty part mass, long thought lost, but found in Paris five years ago. It excited such interest that it went to No. 1 in the UK Classical charts (displacing André Rieu's Forever Vienna, which normally lives there, don't ask why!) and even hit No. 68 in the pop charts!

It inspired Tallis to write the 40-part motet Spem in alium (Hope for garlic)*, which is also on the CD.

*Actually that would be Spem in allium, this is really "Hope in any other"!

er...I actually cant remember! lol. It certainly wasnt terrible anyway as I usually remember the bad recordings so as to avoid them in future.
