What's Norrington's output like in general Fergus? There is a Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique CD by Norrington that I have my eye on.fergus wrote:Mozart – Symphonies Nos. 38 & 40 [Norrington]....
I liked these two performances; not the best that I have heard but good nonetheless.

Re: What are you listening to?
I like it Dave but many don't....not that that can be much of a general guide as we like what we like. In general his textures are light and clean and his speeds brisk. That Berlioz would certainly be interesting....I would not have considered Norrington in that one....he just would not have crossed my mind. If you get it do let me know as I would genuinely be interested in thoughts on it.DaveF wrote:What's Norrington's output like in general Fergus? Very Non-HiFi: RTE Lyric FM over the Sky HD box! Sound quality is not too bad (can't wait to hear the impact of the Young DAC on this) but I am enjoying the variety in program and discovering new stuff! Yay!

Two more fine recordings of these two works; the final movement of the “Jupiter” was wonderful.
