/IIRC, there are a few lovely options with the MKIII. You can change the gain to suit via dip switches under the amp - I think the impedance also.... but its been a while. I think you can also try different tubes by changing some switches underneath again - different input tubes I think.

I took out the cathode caps on mine after a recommendation by a guy on headfi. Again, its been a while, but I think it brought a little more cleaner sound at the expense of sligthly lower gain. The little bit lost wasn't an issue for me with the HD650s of k701s.

Cheers Fran,

I was lucky enough to find a review of the mkiii paried with the HD595 cans which is the set-up I will be using, so I will be able to hit the ground running with the settings.

I am also interested in testing the mkiii as a preamp do you know if I would have any problems running it into an integrated amp, I have a Musical Fidelity A3 Dual Mono ntegrated.

Happy Christmas,

Stephen

Any sign of the amp yet? I'm thinking of getting one for my HD650s so I'd love to hear your verdict.

Well has anyone taken it. I was going to go for one of them before settling for the cayin. If you can get him down to circa €200 it is a very good buy. Its the se also.
