IIRC some of the Pro-Ject arms are 8.5 inch too. I've set a few of them up as well.

The Feickert protractor can align it perfectly and is very, very accurate. Offer is always there if you want me to set it up for you.

Microline/Microridge is far better than Shibata in my experience. IIRC the ML/MR profile was designed by AJ Van Den Hul as part of his PhD thesis. Namiki and other manufacturers changed the dimensions ever so slightly so they would not have to pay AJ royalties. Shibata was designed for Quad LP playb...

I still actually play and record onto cassette but the junk listed on Adverts makes me laugh. 'Vintage' 'Original' 'Rare' used to describe lp's and tapes that I wouldn't look twice at, never mind the silly prices being asked. At least with lp's it's easy enough to gauge condition when looking at it....
