Re: MQN
If it is not Haswell (an by the looks of it it is not) it will rather not work unless something has changed in that requirement that I do not know about. Nevertheless there is no harm in trying. There was a time when my AMD X2 CPU was working fine with Haswell versions ;) OK.... thanks So does anyo...

Re: MQN
Sorry to jump off topic, I have been out of the MQN loop for sometime. Just checking in sporadically. Without trolling through hundreds of pages of posts, can someone please let me know if my processor will play current MQNs. If not which version set would be the last workable with my system. My CPU...

Volumio 2 - local PC playback
https://volumio.org/introducing-volumio-2/ Something to keep an eye on... Quote from blog entry: Volumio2 continues to support a custom compiled MPD daemon for high quality local audio playback, and we are evaluating other local audio renderers as well. Due to the modular architecture, music playbac...

This is interesting build: https://hifiduino.wordpress.com/2015/03/02/bbb-dac-developments/ legato output stage + ess9018 Sabre + reclocker + isolator + BBB. To BBB external clock can be provided. Unfortunately I have never heard a decent sounding Sabre DAC implementation. I personally find them ho...

Re: MQN
Oh well...it's interesting to hear about your experience with it. I wonder whether the two players respond differently to highly optimised and almost non-optimised PCs/Laptops. I for sure find Galaxy better with SSE plus than Blade 10 and whatever the instruction set default setting is. The resulti...

New 5th Gen NUC music server/player
Hi, I'm searching for feedback from music lovers using the new 5th gen Nuc's as a music streamer/PC. http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/nuc/nuc-kit-nuc5i5ryk.html I am contemplating investing in this unit for music streamer duties, running either MPD, vortexbox, or most likely Daphile..... Conne...

Re: MQN
I agree, even the pre-haswell MQn versions are superior. ...... I think you have to agree there is something to be said for usability and an intuitive (even headless) interface (operation).. Convenience goes a long way, although Mqn is really not concerned with factors such as this.... Daphile would...

Re: MQN
I will try the emperor version as well sometime to see if my setup also likes a bit of jitter better. Though I find it hard to understand that more jitter would sound better than less jitter. I can hardly understand that DAC builders specifically build for a jittery signal? Cheers I tend to agree A...

Re: MQN
I'm in between setups Aleg.. So I can't answer your last question...
My mistake....
I was going from memory...
I knew one package introduced jitter deliberately.
I personally haven't tried Infinity so I cant comment.
I just listen to music these days with a simple setup via headphones....
