I'm using a 24bit only dac and would love to hear a 16/44 wav in 24 bits via portaudio (ie kernel streaming) as the 24/96 version sounded imho fabulous - the treble and 3d depth was fabulous.
Are 24 bit containers a possibility at this stage for 16/44 wavs?
Kind regards
Clive

Re: MQN
3.37 mqnplay2496.exe is absolutely stunning - beautiful...thank you! Gordon - as this is so good - are approaching a "final" version and does this mean that you plan to get other sample rates working, like 44.1 16 bit WAVs to work for dacs that only accept 24 bits and those of us with othe...

Re: MQN
problem is how can I test if it works. I understand you can't know what works on every dac but which combination is most likely to work do you think or perhaps would you expect to work? Thanks I mean't how can I test 16 in 24 without such a device. I tried before, but didn't get anywhere. control 2...

Re: MQN
Hi I'm struggling to play anything but 24bit 96 KHz Wav files on my dCS Debussy Dac that wants everything in 24 bit containers. I have an i5 CPU - which version of MQNplay and MQNcontrol should I download to play 16bit wavs on my DAC? I'm running Windows 8.1 64 bit. I am a bit confused by all the v...

Re: JLP wdm-ks player
jlp is what it is, it's a lot better than squeezelite and pa on windows. It's very nice to listen to, but others have the edge when listening critically. There's still a lot wrong with jlp. As I said before, the next step is to get ks working in a minimalist setup. Well I really do hope you keep go...

Re: JLP wdm-ks player
Really it is whatever works for the person it is not a battle/race against one or the other. For a lot of us MQn was just a benchmark so we are inclined to compare it. How does JLP fair against Jplay for you guys? I am not using Jplay on the mainsystem anymore. I've used JPLAY exclusively in the pa...

Re: JLP wdm-ks player
Its very interesting indeed. It seems those with i3 / i5 tend to prefer JLP and those with dual core celeron etc. Prefer MQN. Anyone else feel free to chime in.... PS ive noticed lately that ASUS mobos are getting good reviews. Im getting one next time! Im over gigabyte. Yes I wonder if the lower v...

Re: JLP wdm-ks player
Clive, May I ask what CPU are you using and how much RAM? I'm curious, because I am trying to find out why some people are reporting better sound with JLP, and others reporting better sound with MQN. May I also ask if you are a person that prefers a forward treble sound? - (or please describe the s...

Re: JLP wdm-ks player
Hi I am getting amazing sound with this software via my USB DAC - far better IMHO than any other software on an untweaked Windows 8.1. It is the first time that I feel I have achieved analogue like sound, just can't hear the slight grittiness of most audio players. I think this software surpasses MQ...
