Thank you for the advice Randy. We all have different recipes. Nice to have clean power supplies from batteries or super caps but as in anything, there's no free lunch. As diyers, we choose what matters more to us as a compromise.

Beatles was my first exposure to music when I was 5 yrs or so. Played that record everyday. lol

Go look at the pic I posted Cybot. Notice how high my speakers are off the floor, it's about 5 inches. That nice bass that you hear comes from this trick. It is not about decoupling ya. No spikes is alright. Doesn't matter if your floor is wood. Just give it a try lift the speaker off the floor by 3 inch or so. Go give it another try.

Trust that your Howards are resting on spikes ? Regardless, go look for small wooden blocks or small solid piece of material of about 3 inch high, sit the speakers on 3 or 4 corners of the blocks, play music listen & let me know what you hear.
We'll take from there.
