Re: New Desktop speakers

Hi Derek, there is plenty of space along the long wall. My desk is 200cm. The japanese put floorstanders in smaller spaces. Headphones would be good of course but I personally dont like wearing them for long.

New Desktop speakers

What do ye think lads. Replacing MA BR2 and Klipsch RP400m. I would go to 1k. For desktop in a box room, must be able to go close to or at wall and a dormer corner! Room untreated but big full lenght bookshelfs behind me. Nearfield. Speakers would be 6 ft apart on stands. What speakers would ye sugg...

Re: Luxman

Yes its tricky. Vintage even say 80s now is 40+ years old and can probably be repaired but can you find a tech to do it. The brittle plastic on cd players from late 80s one slip and its broken.

Re: CD player/transport recommendations

I'm happy with the Audiolab bought from the lads in HifiHut. Its a silent unit and looks nice in my rack. Im not mad on the slot unit the way it drags the CDs in and Ive seen threads on Hifi forums suggesting scratching but I dont see any scratches on any of mine.

Yes he is a very nice man, I have not seen him since Covid but have been out to him a few times mainly buying CD's. I wanted that Cooder it was in my wishlist. Its a small world we inhabit. Is there a high fi show this year at all do you know.
