Hi Dave
Does sound like it could be tracking. I borrowed a simple Goldring Scales from Noel in Cloneys about 6 Months ago. If your in the area I'm sure he'd oblige.

What are they teaching Sound Engineers these days???
I've seen a lot of press about CDs being released with heavy audio compression, and I've come to expect it on pop and dance releases. All being typically heavy on the trebble and lacking any real dynamic range. Thankfully I haven't come across any classical examples of this - not to say it doesn't h...

DLR Festival of World Cultures
Hello all In case you weren't aware, it's the 10th Dun Laoghaire Rathdowne Festival of World Cultures, and for the first time they have a Internet Radio Staion. Not content with offering guides, reviews and previews of the Festival events, they are also broadcasting live acts from the Newtownsmith M...

Re: Stuff for sale or swap
Hello Peter
If you don't manage to swap the lot for a choice XLR set I'd be very interested in the Rondo Digital IC from Black Rhodium and also the Wireworld Luna 6.
I'm in Dublin and could arrange payment via Paypal if you want. Feel free to PM me.
Cheers - Mike

Re: Naxos CD's and Cyrus SE cd players
Hello Fergus If you have worries I'd suggest you bring your Naxos discs along to any audition. As I said the 2010 version of the SE's have addressed problems with the occasional disc. I'd done the audition round with the older CD6vs2 machine just before the SE came out and for me it topped players f...

Re: Naxos CD's and Cyrus SE cd players
Hello Fergus Don't beleive everything you read - especially not from me! I've checked through my collection and I have acouple of other Naxos CDs (including a wonderful "History of Classical Music" Sampler) that play no bother. As I've said I haven't really had much trouble with my early C...

Naxos CD's and Cyrus SE cd players
Hello gang Looking at the recent batch of Naxos CDs for sale in the classified section had me in a quandry... I recently purchased Rodrigos' Concierto De Aranjuez (same as the one featured in the classified sale) but had problems with my Cyrus CD6SE when it came to playing it. Despite some peoples e...

Re: The questions posed are moronic...
The wonderful Irish times excelled on Saturday with this interview. Why is it assumed that we are all morons? The last question really takes the biscuit. Am I being too cantankerous, I wonder? I think you're all being a bit hard on Eoin Butler. The only thing that spoilt it for me was that he misse...

Re: Valve amp woes ....
Hello Gerry Pleased your amp is feeling better. I was very impressed with the System Audios when auditioning at Cloneys, but decided to stretch my budget a bit and go for the Spendor A5. I'd suggest you have a listen to these as I'd say they have the qualities your looking for, together with an all ...

Re: DIY Components - Furutech
Hello Fran et al First of all sorry for hijacking this post as it's not really related to Furutech, is it just power connectors they supply btw? Any experience with DIY Phono amps? I might be interested in putting together a MM phono stage. I know there's a huge range of low cost well performing uni...
