211 heat

Post by Fran »

Hi All,

I've been lucky enough to be doing a restoration job on a very nice 211 amp. Its hard to believe the size and heat of these things when they're up and running!! As an example, a KT88 (not a small valve) seems tiny in comparison!!

Anyway, I was sitting yesterday evening listening and the sun was slanting in through the windows. There was this lovely heat shimmer reflected on the walls, I took a quick clip:

Definitely an amp to leave on the top shelf!!

Very appropriate Fran as the Weatherman has just recently informed us that we have had the coldest August in 25 years....perhaps we should all be investing in one of those to keep us warm!!!

They are worlds most ineficient heater though - I cringe every time I forget to turn mine off!
