Thanks for that Seán! I don't listen to CD Review much in the summer when BAL stops, but I was glad to hear that one. Admittedly I have the Norrington already and I really don't need any more Mahler symphonies...

Ed Seckerson who BAL'd Mahler 2 recently raved about the Jouowski/LPO Mahler 2 in this month's Gramophone and says it's now his top choice. Personally I'm planning to buy the

Gürzenich/Stenz Mahler 2 which I haven't seen any reviews of yet!
I really liked the Jurowski/LPO recording but, like you, I am trying to avoid buying any more Mahler recordings for now, I tried that last year though and bought the Levine and Bernstein/NYPO, I'm weak.
