Third party PSU for Squeezebox

Anyone here tried any third party PSUs on their Squeezeboxes? Russ Andrews has one priced around £100 [ouch!]. The 'official' statement from Logitech is that the PSU does not matter or at least any replacement will not give any improvement is sound quality. Scott Faller on
www.enjoythemusic.com states that a 5 volt 1½ amp regulated supply gives a significant gain in resolution.
Anyone know where I might get such a PSU? Or is this search a waste of time?
Thanks.

I use a linear supply that I built on my SB classic, but never bothered with one on the duet. From memory the voltage on the 2 are different. There was definitely an improvement on the analogue outputs, but nothing on the coax output. Since I only use the coax output on mine, I never bothered on the duet.
Tom, you really need to try the RF attenuators - now, that will make a difference. You'll have to come over some day/me call to you to try them out.

Tom, I think the duet is a 9v supply and the classic is a 5V supply - I think yours is a duet?

I use the digital output so perhaps no gains to be got there. But I will check out the attenuators Fran. I will call on you soon.
