When you are in the groove Funk can be "just Right" for those mellow moments, in the habitual, the banal.

This is one that I missed out on until today released in 1969 and re-released this year
Willie Tee - I’m only a man
How some thing this good stayed under the radar for so long …
And produced by David Axelrod to boot.

Not Funk, but damn good Soul/R&B, some nice covers on it aswell
"Reach out for me", the Bacharach & David number and "By the time I get to Phoenix" the old Jimmy Webb hit.
I recon I'll have it playing in the the car all the week

Hope you enjoy it!

I picked up this wonderful collection of fabulous Soul and Funk.
Never mind the dip into disco on the last few tracks, it can be forgiven.

… great to hear Funky bass lines, light clean organ, crisp lead guitar, tight drumming… Albert Smith’s instrumental version of “The trill is gone” even the bum notes sound right. Larry Davis “Down home Funk” soft slow grove funk, The Conspiracy have a couple of tracks on it, worth the money alone.

Good enough for me to order Vol 1
